Donald Trump Explains Why It's 'Impossible' For Him to Cheat at Golf
Donald Trump's golfing ability may be the only thing he has been questioned about more than his ability to lead the most powerful country in the world. The United States president has spent decades telling people how good he is on the course and of his prowess with a club in his hands. He has the trophies to back up his claims as well. Across his collection of golf courses, he has won 43 championships, with the last two on the list coming just over a month ago when the octogenarian posted a two-under 70 to win the Senior and Super Senior Men's Club Championship at his Bedminster golf course in New Jersey. Trump talks a good game, but does he actually play a good game? Viral footage suggests not all the time. The 47th president is currently in Ireland, enjoying the lush green grass as he watched Shane Lowry lift the Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links, becoming the first Republic of Ireland winner since Lowry himself won it back in 2019. During his time on the Emerald Isle, Trump has made a series of controversial statements, but his most recent one on why he cannot possibly cheat at golf may be one of the most bizarre things the 80-year-old has ever uttered. Playing since his early college days, the cheating stories of Trump on the course have followed him for as long as anyone can remember. One of the more extraordinary allegations involved NBC broadcaster Mike Tirico, whose ball was reportedly moved into a bunker after he hit an excellent shot during a round with Trump. The LIV Golf star has shared the course with the POTUS a few times, and he's cast a verdict on his ability. There have also been questions surrounding Trump's putting, his generous interpretation of the rules, and the astonishing number of club championships he has claimed to have won. At his most recent championship win, former attorney Ron Filipkowski posted two videos to his X account that would have made you think Trump has not played golf for five minutes, let alone 50 years. Rick Reilly, author of Commander in Cheat, has been among Trump's most persistent critics, arguing that the president's scores would be significantly higher without the alleged assistance of his caddie. Despite these claims, and many more, Trump has finally explained everything, putting his cheating allegations to rest. "We had hundreds of Secret Service all over the course," he explained. "They said, 'Does Trump cheat?' I said I can't cheat - you have 250 Secret Service agents running around. "It's not that I wouldn't cheat, but you can't move the ball... I don't know if they play enough, but they know you can't move the ball around!" After years of people questioning whether Trump cheated at his favourite pastime, the president has effectively come out and admitted it.
